Sensory Awareness Classes
with Laurie Latner
Set 1 (4 day series): Every Thursday from April 19 - May 10, 2012; 1:30 - 3:00pm Set 2 (4 day series): Every Thursday from May 24 - June 14, 2012; 1:30 - 3:00pm The practice of Sensory Awareness helps us to embody more deeply the living somatic realities of life such as gravity, breathing, balance, energy, and movement. While following deceptively simple experiments, we will discover how we either generate or lose energy, how we can reduce stress and pain, enhance attention and concentration, and move into the full and intended stature of our bodies. This work is exquisitely delicate and precise. It helps us to more easily feel where we have shut down and have become lethargic and limp, or where we have become overly tense from forcing and acting like we need to "muscle" through life. We will be encouraged to find and allow ourselves the space we need in our bodies. As we experience our full presence, we naturally come to a state of balance and become more available to what life is asking of us. This study provides valuable enhancement to being Rolfed, practices such as Yoga, mindfulness training, stress reduction, psychotherapy, creative expression as well as to life itself. Cost: Set 1: $115 Set 2: $115 Individual Classes: $35 Discount Set 1 & 2 (all classes included): $205 To sign up please contact Laurie Latner at laurielatner@gmail.com |

The Way of Love with Bill Mahony
June 29 - July 1, 2012 Heart-centered spiritual practices can open us to the experience love: for the world, for others, for ourselves, for life itself, for divinity. The complexities and possibilities of life's journey give us an opportunity to strengthen, deepen and clarify this love. Through our acts and sentiments of love we can align our lives more fully with the ultimate Source of that love. In yoga, this sharing of love with its Source is known as bhakti. In this workshop we will focus on some of the characteristics and possibilities of a yogic life informed by spiritual love. To help us do this, Bill will lead us in reflecting on teachings from the Narada Bhakti Sutra that can inform us as we refine our understanding of the spiritual love that can stand at the heart of a deep yogic practice. The workshop will consist of Bill's talks and discussion in the spirit of yogic study and satsang and will include short periods of meditation as well as optional asana practice woven into the fabric of the larger sessions. Schedule: Friday 6:30-9pm - Yoga Philosophy in a Heart-Centered Yoga Practice Saturday 12-2:30pm - Characteristics of Bhakti as Spiritual Love Saturday 3-5:30pm - Practices that Elevate a Heart-Centered Yoga Sunday 10:30-1pm - Fruits of a Yogic Life Illumined by Love Cost: $150 by June 15, $175 after Single Session: $50 per session

Unveiling Yoga Philosophy with Douglas Brooks
Sept 28-29, 2012 Fri/6:00 - 9:00pm & Sat/2-6pm Inside each of us are the stories of the Self as it has traversed time and place and identity. Inside those stories lie the lessons of life, instructions for living, and the secrets of awakened Consciousness. There is no resource that is more important or useful for understanding the history and practices of yoga than the Bhagavad Gita. In this workshop we study the teachings of the Gita closely in light of their historical importance and continued relevance to our lives today. We'll place a special emphasis on the interpretation of this yogic text from within Tantric yoga traditions and make clear comparisons with other interpretations. No previous experience is expected or required. Bring an open mind and a willing heart! In reality, what difference is there between a flower and our imagination? There is none truly, for the world is a living pulsation, and that pulsation is in everything. -The Garland of Great Meaning (Translated by Douglas Brooks) Cost: $140 pre-registration required
