Nourish in Nature: Summer’s Aromatic Garden

Exploring the Mint Family Through Herbal Tea Blending & Oxymel Making

Wednesday, August 19 | 5:30–7:30pm
Honey Hollow Farm

Late summer is a feast for the senses. The gardens are overflowing with fragrant herbs, buzzing pollinators, and the rich abundance that comes just before the harvest season begins. Join herbalist Sue Elkind for an evening devoted to slowing down, awakening your senses, and discovering the remarkable medicine of the mint family.

We’ll begin beneath the trees with a seasonal herbal infusion, opening circle, breath practice, and a guided plant meditation before wandering the farm to observe what is thriving in late summer. Along the way, we’ll explore the characteristics and medicinal qualities that unite the diverse members of the mint family—including tulsi, lemon balm, peppermint, bee balm, mountain mint, lavender, sage, thyme, oregano, and more—through their aroma, flavor, and traditional uses.

Together we’ll then move into the kitchen to create two herbal remedies to take home: a custom loose-leaf tea blend crafted from your favorite aromatic herbs, and a seasonal oxymel combining fresh herbs, raw honey, and apple cider vinegar—a time-honored preparation that captures the vibrant medicine of summer.

We’ll conclude our evening with a potluck of seasonal refreshments and time to gather in community.

Come celebrate the fragrance, flavor, and healing wisdom of summer’s aromatic garden, and deepen your relationship with the plants that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
