Being the Lighthouse A Weekend Workshop With Desirée Rumbaugh

Find your light, and be the light that endures for all around you.You are not here to chase ships or shout into the storm, to convince waves to still themselves, or to make the wind remember your name. You are here to stand tall on sacred rock, rooted in truth, rising from stillness. You are the lighthouse. You do not move. You shine. You are not responsible for who anchors or who drifts. You are responsible only for the integrity of your own light. We can carry it brightly through our entire lives in a way that will inspire us and those around us to keep our hearts and minds open and curious.

Return to Life: Classical Mat Pilates Workshop with Kendra Rex

Part I: Sunday, October 26th

Part II: Sunday, November 30th

12:00 - 1:30pm

The pilates method teaches us how to build strength and increase flexibility through controlling opposition and resistance—whether we are working with apparatus or within our own bodies on the mat. In this workshop focusing on the Return to Life mat sequence, we will explore how the 34 classical exercises connect a dynamic breath with the powerhouse, or core, to build strength and flexibility of our spine. By practicing these exercises as dictated by Joseph Pilates—including The One Hundred, Overhead Stretch, Saw, Teaser, Side Legs, Swan, and Boomerang, to name a few—participants will deepen their understanding of body awareness and how to harness the power of their inner fire. Pilates is defined as stretch with strength and control—the most important of which is control.

Cost: $60 for series / $35 drop-in

This 2-part series will be in studio and livestreamed/recorded. You have the option to attend either format. Recordings are available for 2 weeks after class.
